iHealth measures, stores and processes heart rate and blood pressure data

iHealth measures, stores and processes heart rate and blood pressure data.

There’s a new device and app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that lets you check your heart rate and blood pressure in ways you’ve probably never seen or done before, and it’s proving very popular with people of all ages and fitness levels.

It is called iHealth, and it is made up of a desktop docking station with the normal looking medical self-inflating sensor bag (automatic sphygmomanometer) that wraps around the arm, plus the software app that records the medical data and stores it in a database on your mobile device.

But its the software application that makes iHealth app and its hardware really special.

The application can then generate all kinds of reports and graphs from the readings, so you can email them to your doctor or share them with your family and friends.

TEST: You can do something you have never done on your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. How high is your blood pressure? Ask your iPhone, iPad. Test your blood pressure by yourself via iPhone or iPad. Anytime. Anywhere. With perfect ease!

TRACK: Everyday you can measure and track your blood pressure and learn how it reacts to exercise, medication, diet and weight – all factors you can control. With each measurement, you can see the testing process in motion and glance at your blood pressure results with the touch of your finger. All data: Systolic, Diastolic, heart rate, time and WHO classification, is stored automatically and yours forever.

GRAPH: Anyone, of any age can use it. Helps you manage your records by using simple tools: graphs, average calculation, and smart WHO classifications.

SHARE : E-mail to share your results with friends or family members to keep them notified of your current situation and historical results. You can also e-mail your doctor or other medical professionals as part of your personal healthcare.

The app and its hardware: iHealth’s App was selected as one of the top ten by Mobile App Showdown. The app itself is free, but you need to pay for the hardware. The iHealth docking station for your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad doubles as a charging station too. Its own battery charge lasts for up to one month -about one hundred tests – so it doesn’t eat into the battery life of your everyday mobile device.
